On Friday, 2 October, Maldonado Bistro turns 18 — and we’re marking the occasion by handing our kitchen back to two of the chefs who helped shape it.
For one night only, Max Scerri and Anton Curmi — both former chefs at Maldonado Bistro — return to Victoria to take over our cellar kitchen. Since their time here, both have spread their wings, cooking in kitchens in Malta and further afield. Now they’re strengthening their local roots: Max through his charcuterie business, Nelli’s, and Anton through his rescued-bread pasta initiative, Pasteca.
Together, they’ve built a 7-course taster menu that celebrates their own artisanal products and everything they’ve learned along the way — a night that brings their craft back to the room where it began.
For this one evening, the à la carte menu will be paused so the entire kitchen can be devoted to the takeover.
